Why Are Eye Exams Important?
Routine eye exams are about more than checking the sharpness of your vision. In fact, there are warning signs for over 270 health conditions that can present themselves during an eye exam.
Even if you believe you have perfect vision, visiting your trusted optometrist regularly is important. Vision problems may not have any serious signs or symptoms and can go unnoticed.
We want to help detect, monitor, and treat any eye conditions. If left untreated, certain eye conditions can worsen or lead to vision loss.
Eye Exam Frequency
Don’t wait until something seems off with your vision to schedule an eye exam. We prioritize educating our patients about eye health maintenance and early detection to identify any possible eye conditions. We can personalize a treatment plan to help control or lessen the symptoms.
When Should I Get My Eyes Checked?
For the frequency of eye exams, the American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends:
- Adults 18–64 should have their eyes examined every 1–2 years or as recommended by your optometrist.
- Adults 65 and older should have their eyes examined yearly or as recommended by your optometrist.

I cannot express in words the efficacy and professionalism of Dr. Pham however, I will try. I have a serious eye condition: keratoconus and a very extreme case at that. Unfortunately, eyeglasses are not an option for me therefore contacts are my only means for sight. I’ve always lived with mediocre contact fitting and lens prescription. For the first time in years I was able to see 20/20 because of Dr. Pham’s mastery of her craft. It wasn’t easy for her, during the exam she went above and beyond unsatisfied and unacceptable of any result but perfection for my sight. I would 11/10 recommend Eyedeal Eyecare. The office is absolutely beautiful, uses the most current technology, and has a large variety of stylish frames to choose from. Dr. Pham is not your average doctor, she goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. She is patient, kind, and extremely thorough. Angelica was so sweet and knowledgeable, she definitely made the process of choosing a pair of frames easier. Dr Pham is really amazing!! She is extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain in detail how the eyes/lids work and what was going on with my inflamed eyelids including detail pictures of my eyes. Then we discussed my treatment plan, insurance and timetable. I will be going to her to get my inflamed chronic dry eyes and blepharitis under control. Because this is a lifelong chronic issue, I will continue to see Dr. Pham from time to time for my eye maintenance.
I ask her to clean my eyelids while I was there and WOW instant relief! Then she showed me the before and after pictures, the gunk was gone!
I have been to other Dr’s over the years and nobody even comes close to her caliber in what she does. What a relief!
